The Role

An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Spray Painter.   This position will be responsible for a diverse range of duties including industrial spray painting and quality assurance.

Being involved in the process of making signs, the successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Mixing paint and other materials according to specification or formula
• Preparing parts and assemblies for painting
• Painting (and some assembly of) signs according to instruction set by the Production Management team and the job sheet
• Monitoring machine gauges and equipment operation to discover defects/deviations from standards and make necessary adjustments
• Identifying and separating non-conforming parts or materials and report them to Team Leader and Management
• Using a spray gun to apply paint in conformance to specifications
• Employing heat or oven paint drying techniques for special purpose finishes
• Following company requirements to select and match paint colours within specified colour charts
• Maintaining stock levels of all items required for the completion of duties and minor maintenance
• Ensuring the facility and spray-painting equipment are in good working condition
• Managing OH&S and environmental hazards in the paint bay and workplace
• Actively involved in housekeeping and spraying of basic contact adhesives
• Using basic hand tools
• other associated tasks including helping elsewhere in the factory when required
