Spray Painter (Powder)

Key Responsibilities

• Perform powder coating operations for sheet metal parts, electrical cabinets, machine frames and other metal components.
• Prepare and inspect surfaces before powder coating, including cleaning, masking and basic surface preparation.
• Inspect coated parts and identify defects such as runs, pinholes, bubbles, scratches, dents, colour differences, powder build-up, missed areas, sanding marks and surface particles.
• Carry out touch-up and repair work using sandpaper, spray gun, touch-up paint, putty/body filler and polishing tools.
• Perform sanding, surface levelling, spot touch-up, re-spraying and polishing to restore product appearance.
• Ensure repaired and coated surfaces meet customer visual inspection and quality standards.
• When touch-up/repair work is not required, support normal powder coating production activities.
• Assist with powder coating preparation, loading/unloading of parts and other related production activities.
• Maintain spray guns, tools and equipment in good working condition.
• Follow work instructions, quality requirements and safety procedures.
• Maintain a clean and organized working area.
• Support other production tasks as assigned by the Supervisor.

Requirements

• Experience in powder coating, spray painting, paint touch-up or metal finishing is preferred.
• Experience in sheet metal, metal fabrication or electrical cabinet manufacturing is an advantage.
• Able to perform sanding, touch-up painting and basic surface repair.
• Able to operate spray guns and use basic painting/finishing tools.
• Good attention to detail and able to identify surface and coating defects.
• Willing to learn powder coating processes and other production tasks.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willing to work overtime when required.
• Able to work 5.5 days per week.
