Spray Tan Artist

Spray Tan Artist — Training Provided

Golden Hour Tans | Arlington, VA
Part-time | Expected start: Late October–early November

Golden Hour Tans is a boutique spray tanning studio focused on customized results and a welcoming, elevated client experience. We’re looking for a dependable, personable Spray Tan Artist who enjoys helping clients feel confident and wants to grow with our studio.

No spray tanning experience is required—we provide hands-on training at no cost to you.

Schedule & Availability

This position requires flexible daytime availability, with appointments potentially scheduled between 7 AM and 9 PM, including some weekends.

You will work scheduled appointment blocks based on client bookings, rather than fixed daily shifts. You are not expected to work the entire 7 AM–9 PM window, but evening-only availability does not meet the needs of this role.

We anticipate approximately 5-10 hours per week initially. Actual hours will vary based on bookings and are not guaranteed. As a new studio, we expect a slower start, with opportunities for additional hours as our client base grows.

Responsibilities

• Report directly to the Founder/Owner.
• Perform customized spray tans with precision and care after completing training.
• Conduct client consultations to understand desired results and follow Golden Hour Tans’ service protocols.
• Explain preparation, rinse timing, and aftercare clearly.
• Help clients feel comfortable throughout their visit while maintaining professionalism and respecting their privacy.
• Learn and use our booking and payment systems, process transactions accurately, and maintain client records.
• Recommend appropriate services, add-ons, and retail products based on each client’s goals.
• Respond to appointment inquiries by phone, email, or text during scheduled work time.
• Clean and sanitize the service area and equipment between clients, and thoroughly clean the workspace, equipment, and tools at the end of each shift.
• Restock supplies and stay proactive during scheduled downtime by organizing the studio and preparing for upcoming appointments.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must have reliable transportation to and from the Arlington studio.
• Flexible daytime availability and availability for some weekends.
• Dependable, punctual, and attentive to detail.
• Friendly, confident communication and excellent customer service skills.
• Comfortable recommending products and services that meet client needs.
• Comfortable working closely with clients in various stages of undress.
• Willingness to learn spray tanning techniques, product knowledge, and booking software.
• Ability to follow service and sanitation procedures and work independently after training.
• Ability to perform the physical duties of the role, with or without reasonable accommodation, including standing during services, bending or squatting, and holding and operating a spray tanning gun upright for approximately 20 minutes at a time.
• Experience in beauty, hospitality, retail, or customer service is a plus, but not required.

What We Offer

• Hands-on spray tanning training provided at no cost.
• $18/hour plus 100% of tips.
• Commission opportunities.
• 50% off personal spray tanning services.
• 10% off all retail products.
