SPV Purchasing Barang Import

About the role

We are seeking an experienced SPV Purchasing Barang Import to join PT. Nichieplast in Surabaya, East Java. This is a contract position that plays a crucial role in managing our international procurement operations. As a Supervisor for Import Purchasing, you will oversee the sourcing, negotiation, and importation of goods whilst ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and maintaining cost efficiency. This position is integral to our supply chain operations and directly impacts our operational success and bottom-line profitability.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and supervise the complete import purchasing cycle, from supplier identification through to goods receipt and documentation
• Negotiate with international suppliers to secure competitive pricing and favourable payment terms
• Ensure all import documentation is accurate and complies with Indonesian customs regulations and international trade requirements
• Coordinate with logistics providers and customs brokers to facilitate timely clearance of imported goods
• Monitor supplier performance and maintain relationships with key international vendors
• Prepare and maintain detailed records of import transactions, invoices, and customs documentation
• Analyse import costs and identify opportunities for cost reduction and process optimisation
• Supervise junior purchasing staff and provide guidance on import procedures and best practices
• Liaise with internal departments to ensure imported goods meet quality and specification requirements
• Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements in all import activities

What we're looking for

• 5+ years of experience in import purchasing or international procurement roles
• Proven supervisory or team leadership experience within a purchasing or supply chain environment
• In-depth knowledge of Indonesian customs regulations, import procedures, and international trade documentation
• Strong understanding of international shipping, freight forwarding, and logistics processes
• Excellent negotiation and supplier relationship management skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and experience with purchasing or inventory management systems
• Fluent in Indonesian and English; additional languages are advantageous
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
• Exceptional attention to detail and organisational skills
• Knowledge of the plastics or manufacturing industry is desirable
