Role & responsibilities
Install, configure, upgrade, and administer Microsoft SQL Server databases.
Monitor database performance and proactively identify bottlenecks.
Perform database backup, restore, and recovery operations.
Manage database security, user access, roles, and permissions.
Implement and maintain High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) solutions.
Perform database health checks and capacity planning.
Analyze and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, indexes, and database structures.
Monitor and troubleshoot database-related incidents and outages.
Support database patching, upgrades, and migration activities.
Collaborate with application development teams to optimize database performance.
Create and maintain database documentation, SOPs, and operational procedures.
Ensure compliance with organizational security and governance policies.
Participate in production support and on-call activities when required.
