Role Description The SQL Database Administrator role at D2N Solutions is a full-time, remote position responsible for managing and maintaining SQL database environments that support client applications and services. Day-to-day tasks include monitoring database performance, optimizing queries and indexes, and ensuring high availability and reliability of database systems. The role involves implementing and managing database replication, performing backups and restores, and executing disaster recovery procedures. The SQL Database Administrator will design and modify database schemas, enforce data security and access controls, and troubleshoot database-related incidents and errors. Collaboration with application developers, infrastructure teams, and business stakeholders is expected to support deployments, resolve issues, and implement best practices for database administration.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong skills in Database Administration and Databases, including configuration, maintenance, performance tuning, and security.
• Candidates should possess expertise in Replication and high availability strategies, such as log shipping, clustering, and failover technologies.
• Candidates should possess capability in Database Design, including schema modeling, normalization, indexing strategies, and capacity planning.
• Candidates should possess solid Troubleshooting skills for diagnosing and resolving performance issues, connectivity problems, and SQL errors.
• Proficiency with major SQL platforms (e.g., Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, or similar) and strong SQL scripting skills.
• Experience with backup and recovery tools, monitoring solutions, and automation via scripts or database management tools.
• Understanding of operating systems (Windows or Linux), networking basics, and security best practices in database environments.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Effective communication skills, ability to work independently in a remote setting, and collaborate within cross-functional teams.
• Experience supporting databases in cloud environments (e.g., Azure, AWS, or GCP) is beneficial.
