SQL Server DBA III

About the role

We are hiring a Senior SQL Server Database Administrator for a leading US-based financial services company. You will design, build and run the corporate SQL Server databases and keep the data secure, available and recoverable.

Shift and work mode

• US shift, aligned to Pacific Time (approx. 9:30 PM to 6:30 AM IST)
• Full-time, work from office
• 24x7 rotational on-call support

What you will do

• Own installation, configuration, upgrades, patching, migration, capacity planning, tuning, backup and recovery
• Drive root cause analysis and preventive actions; join weekly operations reviews
• Manage change across development, test, QA and production; deploy approved changes to production
• Monitor databases proactively and resolve issues
• Tune T-SQL and optimise queries
• Implement and support high availability and disaster recovery
• Define and apply database security policies and access strategies
• Support ETL, data archive and purge processes
• Run capacity and trend reviews; produce weekly and monthly management reports
• Size new environments and estimate cost and effort for projects

What you need

• 5–7 years as a SQL Server DBA
• Backups, ETL and archiving with native SQL Server tools
• DBCC, SQL Diag, SQL Profiler and third-party diagnostic tools
• Partitioning, replication and mirroring
• SSIS, SSAS, SSRS and SharePoint
• Strong T-SQL, PowerShell, tuning and debugging
• Solid understanding of HA and DR solutions
• Strong communication and the ability to work with development and infrastructure teams

Good to have

• Microsoft database certifications
• Data modelling and metadata management
• Supporting .NET applications and virtual environments
• Oracle DBA experience (a strong plus)
