We are currently recruiting an experienced SQL Server Developer / Database Administrator (DBA) for a long-term international IT project based in Vienna, Austria .

We are looking for a hands-on professional with strong expertise in Microsoft SQL Server, T-SQL development, database performance optimisation and database administration .

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and optimise complex SQL queries, stored procedures, functions and views.
• Analyse execution plans and implement performance tuning techniques.
• Troubleshoot database performance issues, deadlocks and blocking.
• Design and implement effective indexing strategies.
• Develop and maintain ETL and data transformation processes.
• Manage database backups, security, permissions and maintenance.
• Automate routine database administration tasks.
• Investigate and resolve database-related application issues.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of professional experience with Microsoft SQL Server.
• Strong knowledge of T-SQL, stored procedures and query optimisation .
• Hands-on experience in SQL Server database administration and performance tuning .
• Experience with SQL Server Profiler or Extended Events .
• Knowledge of ETL processes and database maintenance .
• Experience working in Agile environments .
• Familiarity with Azure DevOps or Microsoft TFS is an advantage.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT or a related field.
• Fluent English is essential.
• Willingness to work 100% on-site in Vienna, Austria.
