Job Description – Senior Accountant

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to manage day-to-day accounting, financial reporting, taxation, banking, import/export documentation, and reconciliation activities for an international trading business.

The candidate should have strong knowledge of Indian accounting practices, GST, TDS, foreign currency transactions, import/export accounting, banking, and statutory compliance, with hands-on experience in accounting software such as Tally ERP/Tally Prime.

Key Responsibilities

1. Accounting & Bookkeeping

• Prepare and review monthly Profit & Loss Account and Balance Sheet.
• Maintain proper accounting records for domestic and international transactions.
• Ensure timely and accurate posting of all financial transactions.
• Account for foreign currency transactions and exchange-rate differences.
• Track supplier/customer outstanding balances in foreign currency.
• Prepare and maintain Bank Reconciliations on a regular basis.
• Monitor bank balances, payments, receipts and fund requirements.
• Coordinate with banks for import/export-related documentation and transactions.
• Monitor customer and supplier outstanding balances.
• Prepare ageing reports and follow up for collections/payments.

2. GST, TDS & Statutory Compliance

• Handle accounting and reconciliation related to GST, TDS and other applicable statutory requirements.
• Prepare data and supporting schedules for GST returns and other statutory filings.
• Reconcile GSTR-2B/Input Tax Credit with books of accounts.

3. MIS & Financial Reporting

• Prepare monthly MIS reports for management.
• Prepare:
• Receivables & Payables Ageing
• Cash Flow Statements
• Bank Position
• Stock Statements
• Gross Margin / Trading Margin Reports
• Forex Gain/Loss Reports
• Outstanding Reports
• Expense Analysis

4. Inventory & Trading Accounting

• Maintain accounting records for imported and locally purchased commodities/products.
• Reconcile physical stock with book stock.
• Account for freight, customs duty, clearing charges and other costs to determine landed cost.
• Calculate product-wise and transaction-wise trading margins.
• Monitor stock valuation and inventory movement.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of Tally Prime / ERP accounting systems.
• Good understanding of Import & Export accounting.
• Knowledge of GST, TDS and Indian taxation.
• Strong knowledge of bank reconciliation and foreign currency transactions.
• Strong Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP and financial reporting.
• Good analytical and reconciliation skills.
• Ability to independently handle accounting operations.

Educational Qualification

• B.Com / M.Com / CA Inter or equivalent qualification.
• 2-5 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in an Import/Export, Commodity Trading, Manufacturing or International Trading company.

Pay: ₹14,000.00 - ₹46,000.00 per month
