About the role

BBK Group - Philippine Food Asia is seeking a Sr. Accounting Supervisor – Accounts Payable to join our accounting team. This is a full-time position based in Alabang, Muntinlupa City, Metro Manila. As Sr. Accounting Supervisor – AP, you will play a critical role in overseeing and managing the accounts payable function, ensuring efficient processing of vendor payments, maintaining strong supplier relationships, and driving continuous improvement within the department. This position is vital to the financial health and operational efficiency of our organisation, serving as a key bridge between our procurement, finance, and vendor management functions.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and manage the day-to-day operations of the Accounts Payable department, including invoice processing, vendor payment scheduling, and reconciliation of payables
• Oversee the review, verification, and approval of vendor invoices to ensure accuracy, compliance with company policies, and adherence to purchase orders
• Process and authorise payments to vendors in a timely manner, maintaining detailed records and ensuring compliance with payment terms and agreements
• Manage vendor master data, including vendor account creation, updates, and maintenance in the accounting system
• Conduct regular reconciliation of accounts payable ledgers with subsidiary records and general ledger accounts
• Lead and coordinate month-end and year-end closing activities related to accounts payable, including accruals and adjustments
• Monitor and manage cash flow related to payables to optimise payment timing and working capital
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement more efficient procedures within the AP function
• Handle vendor inquiries, disputes, and correspondence, working to resolve issues promptly and professionally
• Prepare accurate and timely accounts payable reports and analyses for management review
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and company internal control policies
• Train, mentor, and supervise AP staff, fostering a culture of accuracy, efficiency, and professional development

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Minimum 2-5 years of progressive experience in accounts payable, with at least 2-3 years in a supervisory or lead capacity
• Strong knowledge of accounts payable processes, procedures, and best practices within the food and beverage or manufacturing industry
• Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems is an advantage
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Office applications
• Excellent attention to detail with strong numerical and analytical skills
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines
• Strong supervisory and team leadership capabilities with the ability to motivate and develop staff
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across departments
• Knowledge of Philippine tax regulations, Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) requirements, and local accounting standards
• Understanding of internal controls, audit procedures, and compliance requirements
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team environment
