Job Summary

This is a role part of the team involved in accounting for insurance products and services provided by Principal Financial Group. We are looking for an accounting analyst resource who can work independently, has analytical skills, can troubleshoot/research/resolve issues. Someone with accounting, analytical, reporting and technical skills. Process-oriented mindset and experience in implementing process improvements. Anticipate this person will become familiar with all processes and use that knowledge to implement efficiencies. Shift: 2nd Shift (01:30 PM - 10:30 PM IST).

Responsibilities

• Performing, analyzing, general ledger and balance sheet reconciliations, exception analysis, and issue resolution, accounting entries, including transaction recording, journal entries.

• Analyze financial and operational data and communicate actionable insights to leaders and stakeholders.

• Resolve operational issues and deliver work within agreed timelines and service levels.

• Strengthen accounting processes through effective controls, standardization, and continuous improvement.

• Support process migrations and transitions while maintaining quality, compliance, and business continuity.

• Collaborate with business, finance, and IT teams, participate in stakeholder reviews.

  Qualifications

• 4-6 years of experience in finance and accounting, preferably in an offshore or shared services environment.

• Minimum qualification: bachelor's or master's degree in commerce, or completion of the CA/ICWA Intermediate level.

  Skills

• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and AP/AR/GL processes.

• Advanced Excel and Microsoft Office skills, with the ability to analyze large data sets.

• Working knowledge of ERP systems.

• Ability to work on multiple systems, understand system integrations, accounting transactions/entries flowing through them.

• Strong analytical, planning, research, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and cross-functional collaboration skills, including the ability to present financial information to senior leaders.

• Ability to work independently, learn quickly, adapt to change, and perform effectively under pressure.

• Team player - Ability to learn and work in team.

• Analyze large data sets.
