Senior Principal Architect – Agentic AI Identity Management

Function: Global Technology

Reporting To: VP / SVP – Technology Cloud & Infrastructure

Role Overview

The Sr. AVP (D2) – Senior Principal Architect, Agentic AI Identity Management is a foundational technology leadership role responsible for shaping EXL’s Identity Management system  and expanding it for agentic‑AI ecosystem.

This role operates at the intersection of architecture, security, automation, and business outcomes, providing deep technical stewardship while influencing senior stakeholders across business, delivery, risk, and governance. The incumbent will act as a technology authority, solution catalyst, and strategic advisor, ensuring platforms are secure‑by‑design, scalable‑by‑default, and outcome‑aligned.

Key Responsibilities

Enterprise Architecture & Strategy

Architect and govern Identity Management for AI and autonomous agents, covering:

  • Agent discovery, registration, and attestation
  • Identity lifecycle (birth → permissioning → rotation → revocation → decommissioning)
  • Human‑to‑AI and AI‑to‑AI trust relationships
  • Transitioning from existing Microsoft MIM based Identity Management to IGA Platform with Agentic AI Identities
  • Least privilege access
  • Just‑in‑time and ephemeral credentials
  • Context‑aware and risk‑adaptive authorization

Define policy‑as‑code frameworks for:

Ensure full traceability and accountability across agent actions, decisions, data access, and privilege usage.

Partner with Cyber, Risk, and Compliance teams to ensure architectures meet PCI DSS, SOC2, ISO 27001/42001, HIPAA, and emerging AI governance requirements.

Act as design authority for Identity for AI initiatives, including integrations with platforms such as Microsoft Entra, Okta, CyberArk, SailPoint, Saviynt, and AI‑native identity controls.

Agentic AI Platforms & Emerging Technologies

  • Architect and govern AI platforms leveraging:
    • Tools: Claude, Copilot, Gemini, Cursor, Replit, LangSmith, OpenClaw, Mostly, PyTorch, NeMo, Antigravity, etc.
    • Frameworks: NVIDIA NeMo, CrewAI, LangGraph, agent orchestration and evaluation frameworks
  • Define secure AI adoption patterns—sandbox to production—ensuring:
    • Data isolation
    • Controlled model access
    • Identity‑centric execution
  • Establish standards for prompt governance, agent behavior control, autonomy limits, and rollback strategies.

Security‑Aligned Architecture

  • Embed security thinking deeply into architecture design, with strong alignment to SIEM, CNAPP, Run time Security and cloud security, identity (including Identity for AI), and zero‑trust principles.
  • Partner with Risk, Compliance, and Security teams to ensure architectures meet regulatory, audit, and enterprise assurance requirements.
  • Act as a senior design authority for secure AI, cloud, and infrastructure solutions.

Solution Leadership & Problem Solving

  • Lead complex, cross‑domain solutioning for strategic initiatives, client‑facing platforms, and internal transformation programs.
  • Translate ambiguous business needs into clear, scalable, and secure technology solutions.
  • Provide architectural oversight for critical programs, ensuring design integrity and outcome realization.

Stakeholder & Executive Engagement

  • Engage credibly with senior management, business leaders, and technology partners, articulating complex concepts with clarity and confidence.
  • Influence decision‑making through executive‑grade communication, architectural rationale, and risk‑reward framing.
  • Mentor architects and senior engineers, raising the overall architecture maturity of the organization.

Core Skills & Expertise

  • Agentic AI & Emerging Technologies: Strong conceptual and architectural understanding of agentic AI platforms, AI infrastructure, and secure AI adoption models.
  • Identity and Access Management:  Strong hands on experience in Designing, implementing and governing IDAM tools. Knowledge of Platforms like Microsoft MIM and Entra ID, Active Directory, Okta, Ping, SailPoint,
  • Multi‑Cloud Architecture: Deep expertise across major cloud platforms with strong grounding in hybrid and enterprise integration patterns.
  • Security‑First Mindset: Practical alignment with SIEM, CNAPP, cloud security, AI identity, and policy‑driven controls.

  • Executive Communication: Ability to communicate succinctly, persuasively, and confidently with senior leadership and business stakeholders.
  • Outcome Orientation: Strong bias toward measurable impact, scalability, and long‑term sustainability over point solutions.

Education

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline.
  • Advanced education (Master’s / Executive Programs) in Technology Management, Architecture, or AI/Digital Transformation preferred.

Certifications (Preferred / Strongly Desired)

  • Cloud Architecture: AWS, Azure, or GCP Professional / Architect‑level certifications
  • Security & Risk: Certifications aligned to Cloud Security, CNAPP, SIEM, Zero Trust, or Secure AI domains
