Sr. BAW Software Engineer

For our client, we are seeking a Sr. BAW Software Engineer to join the team of a leader in the Healthcare space.

This role will focus on designing, building, and supporting enterprise workflow and business process solutions that improve operational efficiency and reliability. The engineer will work closely with development teams and stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable technical implementations, with a strong emphasis on integration, platform stability, and post-deployment support. This position also plays an important role in technical leadership, upgrade support, and issue resolution across the software lifecycle.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $110,000 – $130,000 annually

Responsibilities

• Define system scope and objectives through research and analysis
• Optimize application systems and procedures based on functional requirements
• Design, code, test, debug, and document software programs
• Develop and implement testing plans and data verification methods
• Respond to system failures to minimize downtime and prevent recurrence
• Research software and hardware products to support budgeting and purchasing decisions
• Serve as a technical resource for development staff throughout the project lifecycle

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience with IBM BAW/BPM, including versions 8.x, 20.x, 21.x, or 24.x
• 3+ years of experience with IBM Operational Decision Manager (ODM)
• Extensive experience developing complex workflow components and business process definitions
• Strong integration skills with REST APIs, SOAP services, and JMS/MQ messaging
• Proficiency in Java/J2EE, JavaScript, SQL, and enterprise databases such as SQL Server and DB2
• Experience leading platform upgrades and operational support initiatives
• Technical leadership experience in Agile/Scrum environments
