Senior Cost Accountant

We’re seeking a Senior Cost Accountant to help a manufacturing team understand what drives production costs. This role works closely with leadership to review performance, explain variances, maintain cost standards, and identify opportunities to improve reporting and processes.

What you’ll do

• Analyze how changes in product design, raw materials, and manufacturing methods affect costs.
• Maintain weekly KPIs and review results and variances with leadership.
• Support budgeting and the review of cost standards.
• Monitor material and labor costs, identify reporting needs, and recommend improvements.
• Compare actual manufacturing costs with standard costs and prepare regular reports.
• Create and maintain item codes in the ERP system.

What we’re looking for

• A four-year degree; accounting, finance, or business is preferred.
• At least five years of relevant experience.
• Strong Excel skills and experience working with ERP systems.
• The ability to gather data, analyze results, and explain clear, practical conclusions.
• Strong attention to detail, sound process skills, and the ability to work independently.
• Food industry experience is preferred.
