Sr Data Engineer

For our client, we are seeking a Sr Data Engineer to join the team of a leader in the Finance & Insurance space.

This role will shape and deliver cloud-native data solutions that support scalable analytics, integration, and operational decision-making.

You will build and manage robust data pipelines across batch, near real-time, and API-based use cases while partnering closely with technology and business stakeholders.

The position also calls for strong data governance discipline, technical mentorship, and collaboration on broader data strategy.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $141,800 – $173,300 annually

Responsibilities

• Design complex, multi-tier cloud-native data solutions and integration services
• Build and manage scalable data pipelines for batch, near real-time, and API integrations
• Innovate technical solutions that balance engineering excellence with business needs
• Champion data governance, ensuring quality and compliance
• Organize and guide data curation across platforms based on technical requirements
• Mentor and support teams through design and coding activities
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on technology strategy

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related discipline, or equivalent experience
• Minimum 5 years of experience in data engineering
• At least 4 years of proficiency in Python, Scala, Java, and SQL
• Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, and GCP
• Familiarity with modern data platforms such as Azure Synapse, Databricks, Redshift, and similar tools
• Proven skills in ETL/ELT processes and Azure services usage
• Experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery tools
