Sr. Data Engineer

For our client, we are seeking a Sr. Data Engineer to join the team of a leader in the Finance & Insurance space.

This role will own the design and reliability of a modern data platform that supports secure, high-quality data use across the business. You will architect pipelines, orchestration, and governance patterns that protect sensitive information while enabling efficient analytics and operational reporting. The position also partners closely with technical stakeholders to improve performance, cost efficiency, and observability across the data stack.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $175,000 – $195,000 annually

Responsibilities

• Own the design and implementation of the data platform, including the warehouse and orchestration layer
• Architect reliable data pipelines that handle PII and multi-tenancy constraints
• Maintain orchestration infrastructure for reliable pipeline execution and observability
• Design for performance and cost efficiency in data queries and models
• Build data quality checks and enforce governance patterns to ensure data integrity

Qualifications

• 5+ years of data engineering experience with a focus on platform architecture and data quality
• Strong SQL and Python skills; experience with modern data stacks
• Hands-on experience with data warehouses like Redshift and transformation frameworks such as dbt
• Experience building and maintaining data replication pipelines, including CDC, DMS, and Airbyte
• Solid understanding of dimensional modeling and data quality patterns
