Sr Data Engineer - Fabric & Azure Data Platform

Role & responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain data engineering solutions using Microsoft Fabric including Lakehouse, Warehouse, Notebooks, Spark, and Data Pipelines.
• Build and manage data ingestion, transformation, and orchestration pipelines integrating data from databases, APIs, and files.
• Develop and maintain ETL/ELT workflows using Azure Data Factory and SSIS.
• Write and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, views, and functions for data processing and analytics.
• Manage and optimize databases using SQL Server and Azure SQL Database including performance tuning.
• Develop and maintain SSRS reports and datasets for business reporting and analytics.
• Implement data quality checks, monitoring, and error handling for reliable pipelines.
• Collaborate with Data Architects, BI Developers, and application teams to design scalable data solutions.
• Follow best practices related to data governance, documentation, and performance optimization.
• Support data platform modernization and cloud migration initiatives.

Must Have & Desired Skills:

• 8+ years of experience with Data Engineering.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric (Lakehouse, Warehouse, Notebooks, Spark, Pipelines).
• Strong expertise in Microsoft SQL Server including Stored Procedures, Views, Functions, and query optimization.
• Experience with SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services) and SSRS (SQL Server Reporting Services).
• Experience building and orchestrating pipelines using Azure Data Factory.
• Experience working with Azure SQL Database.
• Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts, dimensional modelling, and ETL/ELT development.
• Familiarity with Power BI or other data visualization tools is a plus.
• Experience with Git or CI/CD practices is desirable.
