Sr Director, Software Engineering - Shopping

For our client, we are seeking a Sr Director Software Engineering - Shopping to join the team of a leader in the Finance & Insurance space. This role will lead technical work focused on cloud-enabled scalability, reliability, and delivery excellence. You will work across engineering, product, operations, and business stakeholders to translate complex requirements into practical technology solutions. The position offers the opportunity to influence architecture, execution quality, and the technology capabilities that enable long-term growth within a regulated financial services environment.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $286,200 – $326,700 annually

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage multiple software engineering teams
• Mentor engineers in professional and technical development
• Collaborate with product managers to define application capabilities
• Continuously enhance software engineering practices
• Work across Agile teams to implement technical solutions
• Ensure the craftsmanship, resilience, and scalability of software solutions
• Encourage innovative practices and diversity in the engineering teams
• Drive efforts to deploy applications in AWS
• Transition monolithic applications to microservices

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field
• 9+ years of experience in software development
• 7+ years of experience in people management
• Master’s Degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering preferred
• Experience in Agile practices for 8+ years preferred
