Sr. Electrical Designer

Position Description: What You'll Do

Senior Technical Leadership Lead complex electrical design projects with minimal engineering guidance while mentoring junior designers. Manage design budgets, schedules, and comprehensive team coordination.

Advanced Expertise Design sophisticated switchgear control systems, complex wiring schematics, and comprehensive electrical infrastructure. Coordinate with client and construction representatives.

Team Development Provide technical guidance and independent quality checks for co-workers. Ensure Project Services Quality System compliance across entire teams.

What You Bring

Must-Have Qualifications

• Experience: 10-25 years in Electrical design on Oil & Gas, Refining, and/or Petrochemical projects
• Education: A.A.S. in engineering OR 12+ years heavy industrial experience
• Technical Skills: Expert AutoCAD, conduit/wire/breaker calculations, 120/480VAC power/lighting design
• Leadership: Team prioritization, design budget development, junior designer mentoring
• Certifications: TWIC card capability

Essential Requirements

• Advanced NEC-hazardous area system design
• Motor control circuit/schematic expertise
• Construction package leadership ($1MM to $30MM TIC)
• Drawing consistency and presentation error detection/solution
• Client and construction representative coordination

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong 3D design experience
• Electrical and Control Systems design integration
• Hands-on experience with Revit software is highly desirable
• Industrial facility maintenance/reliability/projects experience
• Lighting & heat trace design software applications

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Able to sit/stand, type, and perform computer work for long periods of time.
• Frequent use of hands/fingers for computer entry and answering calls.
• Able to perform occasional bending, lifting, and reaching.
• Must be able to lift 15 lbs if necessary.
• Visual acuity sufficient for reading documents, computer screens, and technical materials.
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally in-person, by phone, and via video conferencing.
• Hearing ability adequate for meetings, presentations, and collaboration.
• Ability to concentrate and maintain attention for extended periods while managing multiple priorities.
• Ability to work irregular hours including evenings and weekends as business needs require.
• Able to travel to job sites (local and/or remote) as project needs require.
• Able to work in heavy industrial environments while wearing required PPE (hard hat, safety glasses, steel-toed boots, fire-retardant clothing, gloves, etc.).
• Able to climb ladders, stairs, and work on elevated surfaces.
• Able to walk on uneven terrain and surfaces.
• May be exposed to outdoor weather conditions and industrial environments during site visits.
