Sr Electrical Engineer (TPC)

Medco E & P Indonesia is looking for an experienced Sr Electrical Engineer to join our team through a Third-Party Contract (TPC). In this role, you will contribute to Sakakemang PSC, an upstream oil and gas project located in South Sumatra and operated by MedcoEnergi. Currently in the development phase, the project is progressing toward First Gas/First Production, with start-up targeted for Q3 2027.

In this role, you will be responsible for the electrical engineering design, specification, and technical assurance of power generation, distribution, and control systems, working to international engineering practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Lifecycle Engineering (FEED to Handover) : Responsible for electrical engineering deliverables through FEED and EPC phases; provide engineering support during construction, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and final closeout.
• Brownfield Integration : Design and execute electrical modifications at the existing CPP (including power system capacity expansion, switchgear/MCC tie-ins, UPS, and load shedding systems) to safely integrate gas from the new pipeline.
• Pipeline Infrastructure Support : Manage electrical engineering for greenfield pipeline facilities, including cathodic protection (CP) systems, valve station power supplies, and block valve station electrification.
• Technical Quality & Compliance : Review and approve EPC contractor engineering deliverables, single-line diagrams (SLDs), hazardous area classifications, and electrical equipment specifications in compliance with international code standard, and national regulations.
• Vendor & Interface Management : Oversee technical bid evaluations (TBE), FAT/SAT testing for major electrical equipment, and manage interfaces between civil, mechanical, piping, and instrumentation disciplines.
• Commissioning & Site Support : Supervise site pre-commissioning/commissioning activities, perform site troubleshooting, approve red-line drawings, and finalize closeout/as-built documentation.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline. Professional Engineer (Ir. / IPU or equivalent) registration is preferred.
• Minimum 13 years of electrical engineering experience in the oil & gas industry, including experience in upstream field development or gas processing plant projects.
• Proven experience in FEED and detailed engineering design phases for electrical power systems (generation, distribution, and control) in a hazardous area environment.
• Deep knowledge of High/Medium/Low Voltage (HV/MV/LV) distribution systems, motor control centers (MCC), transformers, UPS systems, and Cathodic Protection.
• Proficiency with power system analysis software for load flow, short circuit, and motor starting studies.
• Experience working with or reporting to EPC contractors and third-party certification/verification bodies.
• Solid understanding of HSSE and process safety principles applicable to electrical systems in oil & gas facilities.
• Willing to travel to project/field sites as required during construction and commissioning phases.
• English B2 (Upper Intermediate) Level.
