Sr . Engineer Contracts

Job Summary: The Senior Engineer Contracts will be responsible for managing and administering contracts related to engineering projects, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory standards, and overseeing the negotiation and execution of contracts. This role requires a thorough understanding of contract law, engineering processes, and the ability to manage relationships with clients, subcontractors, and vendors.

Key Responsibilities:

• Contract Management & Administration:

  • Review, negotiate, and finalize contracts with clients, vendors, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual terms and conditions, including project timelines, scope of work, and payment terms.
  • Administer and monitor the implementation of contract terms, ensuring adherence to all applicable policies, standards, and regulations.
  • Develop and maintain a strong understanding of the projects scope and ensure the contract reflects the agreed-upon terms and conditions.

• Project Support & Coordination:

  • Provide contract-related support to engineering and project management teams, offering advice and guidance on contractual obligations.
  • Ensure that the contract terms align with the engineering specifications, scope of work, and project budget.
  • Coordinate with various departments to resolve any contract-related issues, delays, or disputes that may arise during the project lifecycle.

• Risk Management & Compliance:

  • Identify, assess, and mitigate potential contractual risks throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Ensure that all contracts comply with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards (e.g., construction law, procurement regulations).
  • Develop and implement strategies for minimizing contractual and legal risks for the organization.

• Documentation & Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate records of all contracts, amendments, and correspondence for easy access and reference.
  • Prepare periodic reports and updates on contract status, performance, and any outstanding issues for senior management.
  • Monitor and track contractual milestones, performance metrics, and deliverables to ensure project success.

• Negotiation & Dispute Resolution:

  • Lead contract negotiations with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors, ensuring favorable terms for the company.
  • Resolve disputes and claims between parties by facilitating amicable settlements and maintaining positive business relationships.
  • Handle contract variations, extensions, and amendments as necessary during the project execution phase.

• Cost Control & Budgeting:

  • Collaborate with the project management team to ensure that contracts remain within budget and that project costs are tracked and reported accurately.
  • Analyze and monitor contract budgets, including cost control measures to ensure effective use of resources.

• Continuous Improvement:

  • Provide feedback on lessons learned from previous projects to improve the contracting process.
  • Suggest improvements to the overall contract management system and workflows for better efficiency and compliance.
