Sr. Engineer, Regional Category Management

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Supplier development (including consolidation)

Work with SQE & Purchasing on supplier performance review, drive supplier to improve quality and delivery

Align with GCM for direct material cost reduction, 2nd source implementation, VA/VE, negotiations, etc

Support new project launch, lead sourcing activities for Subcon business

Early involvement from design/quotation, alternatives recommendation/qualification, sample launch to mass production

Optimize incoterms, improve and align payment terms, MOQ/Scale price optimization, inventory control (DSI)

Maximize material value, review S&E and scrap components, resell them to mitigate material loss

Urgently drive critical supply escalations, support pull-in/push out, cancellation, quality issues and other suppliers’ issues. Compensation negotiation for supplier issues

Stewardship support: Supplier SR audit, RBA audit; Meet strategic customer requirement for CMRT, BCP, EH&S

SCOPE: Implement global category strategic guidance (MG204-Stamping)

Take sourcing activities and support Molex DG Plant operation.

EDUCATION: REQUIRED: Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical degree

PREFERRED: Advanced degree

WORK EXPERIENCE: REQUIRED: At least 5 years of experience in sourcing, category management, engineering or procurement

PREFERRED:

• Minimum 5 years of experience in Sourcing, or Commodity Management within the connector, terminal, or precision stamping industry.
• Familiarity with connector and terminal high speed precision stamping processes and metal plating processes (continuous plating and reel-to-reel plating).
• Understanding of stamping raw material selection, plating specifications, and quality control requirements.
• Experience in supplier development, supplier audits, cost reduction initiatives, and capacity management.
• Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Quality, Operations, and Supply Chain.
