Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Senior Estimation Engineer – Civil / MEP with Miniumum 8 years of experience in construction estimation and tendering, preferably with contracting companies or real estate development organizations.

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience in preparing cost estimates, BOQs, quantity take-offs, tender pricing, subcontractor/vendor evaluations, and commercial proposals for residential, commercial, and high-rise building projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates, BOQs, quantity take-offs, and tender pricing for Civil and MEP works.
• Review tender documents, drawings, specifications, scope of work, and contract requirements.
• Analyze project drawings and identify quantities, materials, manpower, equipment, and other cost components.
• Prepare detailed rate analysis and build-up of unit rates for Civil and MEP activities.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Procurement, Project Management, and Commercial teams during the tendering process.
• Obtain and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations and ensure commercial competitiveness.
• Prepare tender comparison sheets and support the selection of appropriate subcontractors and suppliers.
• Identify scope gaps, exclusions, assumptions, and potential commercial risks during tender evaluation.
• Conduct value engineering and cost optimization exercises where required.
• Review design changes, variations, and revised quantities and assess their cost impact.
• Maintain and update cost databases, historical rates, material prices, and subcontractor rates.
• Assist in preparing project budgets and preliminary cost plans during the pre-contract stage.
• Participate in tender clarification meetings and coordinate responses to technical and commercial queries.
• Support negotiations with subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, and clients as required.
• Prepare estimation reports and present tender cost summaries to management.
• Ensure estimates are prepared accurately and submitted within the required tender deadlines.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Miniumum 8 years of experience in construction estimation and tendering.
• Strong experience in building construction projects, particularly:
• Residential buildings
• Commercial buildings
• High-rise buildings
• Mixed-use developments
• Experience with Civil and/or MEP estimation; candidates with multidisciplinary estimation exposure are preferred.
• Experience with contracting companies or real estate development companies is highly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of BOQ preparation, quantity take-off, rate analysis, cost estimation, and tender pricing.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing drawings.
• Good understanding of construction materials, methods, specifications, and applicable standards.
• Experience in evaluating subcontractor and supplier quotations.
• Strong knowledge of Excel and estimation/tendering software; familiarity with AutoCAD and quantity take-off tools is preferred.
• Arabic language proficiency is mandatory, with good English communication skills.
