Sr. Financial Controller/CFO

Job Summary The Sr. Controller/CFO will plan, direct and report on the accounting operations and financial results of the company(s). In addition, the role is expected to become a strategic partner to the ownership and senior management of the company.

Responsibilities Supervisory Responsibilities:

• Oversees the operations and effectiveness of the Accounting Department, which include accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, cash forecasting, and payroll.
• Oversees training programs and identifies training needs.
• Motivate, support and provide guidance to employees.
• Monitor operations productivity and provide constructive information, feedback and coaching.
• Provide constructive and timely performance evaluations.
• Assist in the handling of discipline of employees in accordance with company policy.
• In combination with the H/R Director, evaluate benefits programs for employees that ensures high-quality coverages at a cost-effective rate.
• Oversee the company's commercial insurance programs.
• Actively participate in the credit status and collections of customer receivables as needed.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Maintains a documented system of accounting policies and procedures; implements a system of controls over accounting transactions to minimize risk.
• Oversees the production of periodic (monthly, quarterly, and annual) financial reports; ensures that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles or international financial reporting standards.
• Utilizes "accrual" accounting for Surf's Up, and Black Metallic, as well as "cash basis" accounting for Steamroller Copies.
• Recommends benchmarks that will be used to measure the company's performance.
• Provides financial analysis, with emphasis on productivity and efficiency, capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations.
• Provides information necessary for the accurate preparation of Company tax returns.
• Works with external auditors and provides needed information for the annual audit.
• Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements.
• Ensures that bank reconciliations are completed monthly for all company bank accounts.
• Prepares and reviews a Cash Forecast with the CFO on a regular basis.
• Actively participates in the collection of Accounts Receivable as needed.
• Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned.
• Oversee and administer the Company's insurance programs (excluding benefits).

• Proficient in accounting software, ideally Quickbooks Online.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.

Education And Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Administration required.
• Ten years or more of related experience required.
• Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant designation beneficial.

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
• Able to travel as needed.
