What they need
Title: Sr. IT Project Manager – Networking
Location: 3 Days/week on site NYC, NY, Must be comfortable traveling between Manhattan and Westchester/Purchase; and will be required to work Friday/Saturday cut overs very regularly.
NOTE: Must be comfortable with site-based work — this is NOT a primarily remote role. • Must be willing to work weekends/after-hours. Typical cutover: Friday pre-checks → Saturday work → Monday support. • Must be able to commute to Purchase/Westchester when that becomes the primary site for ~9–12 months. • Must be comfortable traveling between Manhattan and Westchester/Purchase.
About the Role
We're looking for a strong, hands-on Project/Program Manager to lead a large-scale, multi-phase technology deployment across a high-density enterprise environment. This is fundamentally a project management role, not an engineering role — the ideal candidate will bring proven experience running complex infrastructure, network deployment, or hardware refresh programs, paired with basic-to-moderate technical fluency and a genuine willingness to be on-site and hands-on.
You'll spend roughly four days a week on planning, coordination, discovery, and execution — and one day a week (primarily Saturdays) physically on-site managing live cutovers. This is not a remote role, and it's not a desk-only PM role. We need someone who will walk the floor, verify equipment with their own eyes, and own the outcome of every cutover from start to finish.
What You'll Do
Own end-to-end project management for a large-scale, multi-phase infrastructure/technology deployment involving a significant number of endpoints and devices
Plan, schedule, and drive execution across multiple concurrent workstreams
Coordinate cross-functionally across networking, patching, fiber, vendors, program management, and facilities teams to keep every phase on track
Lead Saturday on-site cutover events, ensuring readiness ahead of time and rapid resolution of any issues during the live cutover window
Conduct physical site walks and discovery: validate equipment and endpoints, count devices, confirm cabling/power/connectivity status, and verify that sites are truly ready before cutover
Perform basic technical triage on-site — for example, confirming a device is powered, connected, and showing appropriate link/status lights — and know when and how to escalate to the appropriate technical team
Manage stakeholder communication and expectations across internal teams, vendors, and client-facing partners
Maintain project documentation, schedules, risk logs, and status reporting throughout the engagement
Proactively identify and resolve blockers before they threaten a cutover date, rather than waiting for issues to surface
What We're Looking For
Proven experience as a Senior Project Manager, Technical Project Manager, Infrastructure Project Manager, IT Project Manager, Network Deployment PM, Hardware Refresh PM, or IT Transformation PM
A track record managing large-scale, complex, multi-phase projects — ideally hardware refresh, network deployment/integration, infrastructure rollout, or broader IT change programs involving significant numbers of endpoints or devices
Comfort operating in a high-pressure, deadline-driven environment where a cutover has to work the first time — no do-overs
Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional coordination skills, with experience working across technical and non-technical teams (networking, vendors, facilities, etc.)
A genuinely hands-on approach — comfortable stepping away from the spreadsheet to walk a floor, physically inspect equipment, and verify readiness in person
Basic-to-moderate networking knowledge: you don't need to be a network engineer, but you should be able to tell whether a device is powered on, connected, and showing the right status lights — and know when something needs to be escalated
Willingness and ability to be on-site in the Manhattan/Westchester area, including mandatory Saturday cutover coverage
A high degree of autonomy, accountability, and ownership — someone who drives outcomes rather than just tracking a task list
What We're Not Looking For
Deeply technical network engineers with limited PM/project experience
Candidates whose project management background is primarily administrative or spreadsheet-based, without field/on-site ownership
Candidates who have only managed small-scale projects
Candidates who are not comfortable being physically present on-site and involved in the work
Candidates whose "technical experience" is limited to knowing product/brand names without ever owning a deployment
Other offers great for you!
