Sr. Java Developer

Location: St. Louis, MO (onsite client interview and worksite mandatory Only)

Core Technical Must-Haves

• 8+ years of professional Java development experience (enterprise-scale microservices)
• 5+ years of hands-on cloud platform experience (AWS strongly preferred) – architecture + deployment
• Deep expertise with Spring Boot and related Java frameworks
• Experience with GraphQL and Node.js in backend development
• Strong background in event-driven architectures and messaging systems (Apache Kafka, Apache Camel)
• Proven experience leading application modernization (monolith-to-microservices, legacy integrations)
• Expertise in containerization & orchestration: Docker + Kubernetes
• Familiarity with service meshes (e.g., Istio), API gateways (Zuul, NGINX), and OAuth2/SAML
• Proficiency with CI/CD tools (GitLab, Jenkins)
• Experience with observability tools (DataDog, SumoLogic) and distributed tracing
• Strong understanding of telecommunications systems (identity management, billing systems, device/network management preferred)

• Experience architecting and leading development of robust Java-based microservices
• Proven ability to guide and mentor engineering teams (best practices in design, testing, DevOps)
• Track record of driving cloud-native solution design and deployment (AWS, Kubernetes, Docker)
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and aligning technical solutions with business goals
• Champions CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and observability
• Ensures secure coding practices, performance optimization, and production readiness
• Strong documentation and knowledge-sharing habits
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills

. Preferred / Differentiating Experience

• Telecommunications industry experience (customer identity, billing systems, network equipment management)
• Full-stack exposure (React or Angular for internal tooling)
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum and SAFe frameworks
• Cloud-native tool development or internal platform engineering experience
• Any hands-on AI development / AI-assisted development experience (noted in the title – nice-to-have differentiator)

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field

Pay: $50.00 - $60.00 per hour
