Sr JavaBackend Engineer

In this role, you ll design, build and maintain the high-volume business logic that runs on the mainframe. At the same time you ll play a key role in refactoring legacy code to enable modern cloud and mobile applications to seamlessly interact with the mainframe s core data.

What you will do
Maintain Performance
-Prevent decay and find efficiencies: Monitor the architecture and identify opportunities to optimize code to maintain and enhance mainframe performance.

Debug and Test
-Find and fix: Debug, troubleshoot, and analyze complex system interactions to keep mission-critical applications running.

Develop for the Future
-Bridge the gap: As an instrumental player in modernization, you ll extract business logic from legacy systems for migration or integration with cloud-based services.

Java, SpringBoot, Awareness of SOLID, Microservices Architecture, Awareness of AWS Services (EC2, Lambda, S3, APIGateway, SQS, SNS, Cloudwatch, ECS etc), CI CD ((Jenkins / Gitlab)) pipelines, SQL, noSQL (Mongo/ DynamoDB), Awareness of Security (Spring and AWS IAM) and Terraform.
Design patterns, HLD, LLD, Team co-ordination, leading a team, System documentation.

Who You Are

Required skills and experience

• Experience working as a software engineer on complex software projects.
• Excellent coding skills and solid development experience (Java, Python, .Net etc.) with debugging and problem-solving skills.
• Software development methodologies, with demonstrated experience developing scalable and robust software.
• Experienced in relational and NoSQL databases, data mapping, XML/JSON, REST-based web services.
• Knowledge of architecture design - Microservices architecture, containers (Docker k8s), messaging queues.
• Deep understanding of OOP and design patterns.

Preferred skills and experience

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Certification in one or more of the hyperscalers (Azure, AWS, and Google GCP) - otherwise, you can obtain certifications with Kyndryl.
• Experience with DevOps tools and modern engineering practices.
