Sr Manager-HSE

Role & responsibilities

We are hiring for the Mumbai Goregaon location.

Primary Responsibilities:
Carry out the day-to-day operations of HSE department and contribute to the application of effective Health, Safety and Environmental management by providing technical support.
Reporting to: Director and Sr. Terminal Manager - Operation and Admin, functionally reporting to Terminal Manager.
Essential duties and responsibilities:

• Steering the implementation of the Health, Safety & Environment management systems.

• Train staff in company HSE values, standards and procedures - Develop a strong HSE culture among staff and contractor, take tool box meetings. Conduct incident investigations and reporting.

• Track monitor and report Site HSE Performance.

• Assist in compliance reviews, general risk assessments and other safety assessments to support Health, Safety and Environmental management.

• Maintain relevant HSE logs and documentation. Prepare applicable HSE reports as necessary. Assist in the compliance of applicable laws and regulations.

• Ensue legal requirement as per the prevailing law applicable. Prepare HIRA & SOP as per the requirement,

• Ensure work permit, conduct periodic audit at site, Maintain all EHS records.

• Enforce safety rules and regulation at terminal, Jetty area, pipeline corridor and Wagon Loading Railway Siding Area.

• Advice to line function supervisor on EHS matters, conduct mass meeting for workers.

• Aid and advice on HSE issues to make recommendations to facility management.

• Participate in detailed incident investigations and Root Cause Analysis

• Promote incident prevention for the benefit of employees and visitors.

• Observe HSE regulations, wears all required safety equipment, encourages safe working practices, corrects obvious hazards immediately or reports them to the proper personnel.

• Ability to work with employees and achieve cultural change in the face of potential resistance

• Maintain positive and proactive relations with managers and employees, as well as our customers and regulatory agencies.

• Perform other work-related tasks as required as assigned

• Walk the Terminal & jetty on a regular basis to establish HSE presence and provide support.

• Conduct daily and monthly HSE Meetings/Trainings and schedule as needed.

• Write, implement, and manage HSE Programs, Policies and Procedures

• Ability to evaluate PPE and ensure proper use and maintenance of PPE

• Enforce compliance of Regulatory requirements (i.e. OSHA, EPA, OISD etc.), including company HSE policies and procedures.

• Ability to oversee Hazardous Waste Storage area and ensure regulatory agency compliance i.e. labeling, containment, proper disposal, documentation, etc.

• Perform Storm Water Discharge sampling and document events.

• Assist in emergency response and provide first aid treatment.

• Oversee Behavior Based / Observation Safety Programs. and develop Job Hazard Analysis (JHA)

• Follow Fall Protection program, inspect all fall protection equipment and maintain inspection records.

• Regular audit and inspection of facilities/processes at Terminal, Pipeline Corridor, Jetty Area as well as Tank Wagon Loading Siding.

• Develop the subordinates for the subject safety role and providing training to them.

• Maintain the Fire Protection System facilities at the terminal as per OISD and other Standards and prepare regular maintenance schedule for the same.

• Performs other related duties as assigned.
