Sr. Material Planner

Position Summary

• Plan, purchase, and schedule materials to meet production loading and demand requirements efficiently.
• Expedite and coordinate material flow to ensure timely delivery and adherence to production commitments.
• Manage and control inventory levels, ensuring accuracy and compliance while minimizing excess and nonconformance.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze demand and develop material purchase plans to align with production loading and schedule requirements.
• Prepare and communicate material schedules to production control, ensuring timely and accurate commitments
• Proactively notify stakeholders of schedule changes that may impact production loading or delivery commitments.
• Maintain material quality status and resolve issues in nonconformance areas.
• Review and recommend provisions for excess or rejected materials monthly to minimize waste and cost.
• Plan and expedite consignment materials from customers and submit monthly inventory reports as assigned.
• Analyze top inventory items and establish provisions to optimize stock levels and reduce risk.
• Assist with physical inventory counts and ensure compliance with audit and reporting requirements.
• Provide support for related activities within the material planning function as needed.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or related field
• • 5 years’ experience in materials management (strategic and operational) / +5 years experience in production planning job function
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Expertise in material planning and scheduling, ensuring alignment with production demand and minimizing inventory risks.
• Strong understanding of production planning modules, material requirements planning, and capacity planning tools.
• Hands-on experience with SAP and ERP systems; SAP MRP planning skills.
• Ability to provide input for SAP system upgrades and process improvements.
