Sr. Pastor

Overview

We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Sr. Pastor to lead and nurture our faith community with energy, compassion, and spiritual insight. This vital role involves providing spiritual guidance, inspiring worship experiences, and fostering a welcoming environment for individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds. The Sr. Pastor will serve as a spiritual leader, mentor, and counselor, ensuring that the church’s mission of faith development and community service is actively realized. The ideal candidate will bring a vibrant presence, strong leadership skills, and a deep commitment to biblical theology and religious education.

Duties

• Deliver engaging sermons and religious teachings that resonate with diverse audiences, emphasizing biblical principles and spiritual growth.
• Lead worship services, prayer meetings, and religious events that foster community connection and spiritual renewal
• Provide pastoral counseling and bereavement support to individuals and families navigating grief, terminal illness, or personal crises
• Offer spiritual guidance and mentorship to church members, including working with families during life transitions or crises
• Coordinate outreach initiatives that serve culturally diverse communities, promoting inclusivity and social justice
• Plan and organize church events, retreats, and community service projects to strengthen bonds within the congregation

Qualifications and Requirements Required Qualifications:

• Candidates must meet the biblical qualifications of an Overseer as outlined in 1 Timothy 3:1-7, Titus 1:5-9, and 1Peter 5:1-4.
• Candidates must affirm and uphold the doctrinal beliefs of the Southern Baptist Convention, as expressed in the Baptist Faith and Message 2000 (https://bfm.sbc.net/bfm2000/).
• Candidates must have completed seminary training or an equivalent formal theological education.
• Candidates must have a minimum of two years prior vocational pastoral ministry experience.
• Candidates must reside or be willing to relocate in or near the community served by the church. The ideal candidate will possess the following traits:
• Values Scripture over personal agendas.
• Ability to work collaboratively with elders, deacons, committees, and ministry teams.
• Willingness to engage in direct personal outreach, home visits, shut-in care, and counseling.
• A heart for discipleship, mentoring, and equipping others for ministry.
• Commitment to community outreach, evangelism, and local engagement.
