Sr. Polymer Engineer

**MUST HAVE Wire & Cable product experience**

Job Summary:

Leads development and optimization of PVC formulations and extrusion processes to support new products and continuous improvement. Applies expertise in polymer science and processing to improve performance, manufacturability, and cost efficiency across lab and production environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and optimize PVC compounds and formulations (stabilizers, plasticizers, additives).
• Lead extrusion trials, scale-up, and process validation from lab to manufacturing.
• Troubleshoot extrusion and production issues (melt flow, die design, defects, throughput).
• Analyze material properties and align with processing parameters for performance improvements.
• Partner with manufacturing to improve process efficiency, yield, and scrap reduction .
• Qualify raw materials and collaborate with suppliers .
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and environmental standards .
• Mentor junior staff and communicate technical insights to leadership.

Technical Focus:

• Polymers (PVC formulations & additives)
• Biochemistry / Materials R&D
• Extrusion processing & troubleshooting
• Polymer testing and characterization

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s in Materials, Chemical, or Polymer Engineering
• 8–11+ years in PVC, extrusion, or polymer development
• Preferred: Advanced degree and deep PVC formulation experience

Nice to Have:

• Extrusion troubleshooting expertise
• Manufacturing (MFG) process improvement experience
• Lab-to-production scale-up background
