Sr. Procurement Engineer - Civil Contracting

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Procurement Engineer to join our contracting company. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction procurement, with proven experience in sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing civil construction materials and managing procurement activities in line with project requirements, budgets, and schedules.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and process Purchase Requisitions (PRs), Requests for Quotations (RFQs), Purchase Orders (POs), and subcontract agreements.
• Manage end-to-end procurement activities for civil construction projects.
• Source and procure concrete, reinforcement steel, structural materials, finishing materials, waterproofing materials, blocks, tiles, and other construction materials.
• Identify, evaluate, and maintain relationships with suppliers, manufacturers, and subcontractors.
• Obtain and compare quotations, evaluate commercial offers, and negotiate competitive pricing and payment terms.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, site teams, and quantity surveyors to ensure materials meet project specifications and requirements.
• Follow up on purchase orders, delivery schedules, and material availability to avoid delays in construction activities.
• Review technical specifications, BOQs, material submittals, and procurement requirements before placing orders.
• Monitor market trends, material price fluctuations, and supplier performance to identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with approved budgets, procurement procedures, contractual terms, and company policies.
• Maintain accurate procurement records, supplier databases, purchase order registers, and documentation.
• Coordinate with the finance and commercial teams regarding invoices, payment terms, and supplier accounts.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• 8–12 years of relevant procurement experience in the construction or contracting industry.
• Strong experience in sourcing and purchasing civil construction materials.
• Good knowledge of construction materials, technical specifications, BOQs, and supplier markets.
• Proven negotiation skills and the ability to achieve cost-effective procurement solutions.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and MS Office.
• Experience with ERP systems and procurement software is an advantage.
• Strong communication, analytical, organizational, and coordination skills.
• Ability to manage multiple procurement packages and meet project deadlines.

Preferred Experience

• Experience working with a main contracting company.
• Established network of local suppliers, manufacturers, and subcontractors.
• Strong knowledge of construction material pricing, market trends, and alternative sourcing strategies.
• Experience in supplier evaluation, subcontract negotiations, and procurement cost optimization.
• Familiarity with UAE/GCC construction procurement practices is an advantage.

Pay: AED8,000.00 - AED10,000.00 per month
