Sr. Product Development Engineer – Mechanical (RF)

Your Job

Molex is seeking an experienced Senior Product Development Engineer – Mechanical to play a key role in the development, deployment, and scale-up of Molex's RF Test & Measurement Center of Excellence in Taiwan.

In this role, you will lead the mechanical design, development, validation, and commercialization of RF connectors, cable assemblies, and Automated Test Equipment (ATE) assemblies. You will work closely with Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and global development teams to deliver robust and manufacturable solutions.

Copper Solutions (RF Taiwan) What You Will Do

• Lead mechanical design of RF connectors, cable assemblies, and custom mechanical assemblies for ATE applications
• Develop innovative product concepts and support prototype development and validation
• Create and maintain 3D models, detailed drawings, and engineering documentation
• Conduct tolerance analysis and stack-up studies to ensure product performance and manufacturability
• Lead Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Reliability (DFR) activities
• Conduct or direct Mechanical FEA analysis to validate product reliability and performance
• Collaborate with Electrical Engineering to ensure designs meet both mechanical and electrical performance requirements
• Support prototype builds, qualification testing, and manufacturing scale-up activities
• Work closely with suppliers and manufacturing teams on tooling, machining, assembly, and production readiness
• Lead risk assessment and mitigation activities throughout product development
• Prepare technical reports, validation reports, and qualification documentation
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance to project teams

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

• BS/MS in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• Fluent English communication skills (written and verbal)
• 5-8+ years of experience in mechanical product development
• Strong 3D CAD experience (NX preferred, Creo or SolidWorks acceptable)
• Strong understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and mechanical design principles
• Experience performing tolerance analysis and stack-up calculations
• Experience leading DFM and DFR activities
• Experience with Mechanical FEA analysis
• Knowledge of SPC and quality engineering principles
• Experience working with precision manufacturing processes, including CNC machining and assembly
• Ability to communicate effectively with global teams, suppliers, and customers
