About the role

As Purchase Executive, you will ensure Origin s engineering and manufacturing teams receive the right components, materials, services, and tooling at the right quality, cost, and time. You will manage purchasing execution from approved requirement through supplier follow-up and receipt, while building accurate commercial records and strong vendor relationships. This role is central to keeping prototype builds, pilot deployments, and production schedules moving without surprises.

Key responsibilities

• Convert approved purchase requirements and bills of material into RFQs, commercial comparisons, purchase orders, and delivery plans.

• Source mechanical, electrical, electronic, fabricated, machined, and standard industrial components from qualified suppliers.

• Negotiate price, lead time, payment terms, minimum order quantities, warranties, and delivery commitments.

• Follow up actively with suppliers, logistics partners, engineering, quality, and finance until material is received and accepted.

• Maintain accurate PO, quotation, vendor, delivery, invoice, and payment records in the operating system or ERP.

• Identify shortages and schedule risks early, propose alternates, and escalate decisions with evidence.

• Support vendor onboarding, supplier performance reviews, cost reduction, and localisation initiatives.

• Ensure purchasing follows approved specifications, quality requirements, and internal controls.

Required qualifications and skills

• 2+ years of purchasing, procurement, sourcing, or supply-chain execution experience in a hardware, manufacturing, automotive, industrial, or engineering environment.

• Strong ability to read bills of material, specifications, drawings, and commercial quotations.

• Practical experience with RFQs, purchase orders, negotiations, expediting, invoice reconciliation, and supplier follow-up.

• Proficiency with spreadsheets and an ERP or procurement system.

• Clear written and verbal communication in English; strong organisation and attention to detail.

• Ability to operate with urgency in a fast-moving engineering environment.

Preferred experience

• Procurement of machined parts, sheet metal, wiring, electronics, motors, batteries, sensors, or industrial equipment.

• Vendor-development, cost-reduction, or NPI purchasing experience.

• Diploma or bachelor s degree in engineering, commerce, supply chain, or a related field.
