Sr. Python AWS Engineer - Must have experience with Private Equity valuation

Duration - 9+ months

Location - 100% remote - EST hours

Rate - 75-80/hour W2 / 80-90/hour Corp

Our client is seeking a Senior Technical Lead with strong expertise in Private Markets and Private Equity valuation to drive the design, development, and enhancement of technology solutions supporting Alternative Investment products.

This is a unique opportunity to join a growing team that is expanding its fund accounting and NAV oversight capabilities within the Private Equity and Private Markets space. The ideal candidate will combine deep domain knowledge in private asset valuation with strong technical leadership, serving as both a hands-on contributor and subject matter expert for strategic initiatives.

Candidates should have direct experience working with Private Equity, Private Markets, or Alternative Investment funds , with a particular focus on valuation methodologies and processes. They should possess a solid understanding of the complexities involved in valuing illiquid assets where market pricing is not readily available and be able to translate that expertise into scalable technology solutions.

Working within a specialized Private Equity technology team, this individual will collaborate closely with software engineers, AWS developers, architects, product owners, and business stakeholders. They will play a key role in shaping and implementing innovative platforms that support valuation, fund accounting, and investment operations while remaining actively involved in technical design and solution delivery.

Must-Have Qualifications

• Direct experience working with Private Equity, Private Markets, Alternative Investments, or other private asset investment products .
• Proven hands-on experience in the valuation of private and illiquid assets . Candidates with backgrounds focused primarily on trading, portfolio execution, or traditional investment management without direct valuation experience will not be considered.
• Strong software engineering or application development background, with the ability to actively contribute to solution design, development, and implementation.
• Experience designing, building, or implementing technology solutions in AWS .
• Demonstrated expertise with AWS services and architecture , including hands-on experience developing and deploying cloud-native solutions.
• Strong proficiency in Python and experience developing scalable applications, data pipelines, or analytical solutions within Python-based environments.
• Experience working with financial, investment, and valuation data , including complex data integrations, transformations, and reporting processes.
• Ability to bridge business and technology functions by serving as both a technical leader and subject matter expert within the Private Markets domain.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management, and collaboration skills, with the ability to guide engineering teams and influence solution direction through deep domain expertise in private asset valuation.
