Sr QA Automation Engineer

Inszone Insurance Services is looking for a Senior QA Automation Engineer to join our Development team in Lima, Peru.

This is a hybrid position requiring candidates to work from our Lima office at least once per week , with the remaining days working remotely.

We are looking for someone with 5+ years of experience in software QA who is passionate about automation and interested in taking ownership of a growing automation initiative.

Our QA team currently focuses primarily on manual testing, and we are beginning our transition toward automated testing using Playwright. In this role, you will lead that transition by developing our automation strategy, building the framework, establishing standards, and helping our existing QA team expand its automation capabilities.

This is an opportunity to build something from the ground up and have a direct impact on how our Development team operates.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development and implementation of our QA automation strategy.
• Design, build, and maintain a scalable test automation framework using Playwright and TypeScript.
• Develop automated UI, API, smoke, and regression test suites.
• Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines.
• Establish QA automation standards, processes, and best practices.
• Identify opportunities to improve testing efficiency, reliability, and coverage.
• Mentor QA analysts and help the team transition from manual to automated testing.
• Collaborate with developers, QA analysts, and other stakeholders to improve software quality.
• Participate in test planning, defect management, and release validation.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in software QA, including 2–3 years of hands-on test automation.
• Experience building and maintaining test automation frameworks.
• Strong knowledge of Playwright preferred; experience with Cypress, Selenium, or WebdriverIO also considered.
• Strong TypeScript/JavaScript programming skills.
• Experience with API testing and REST services.
• Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of Git, SQL, and QA testing methodologies.
• Experience establishing QA processes and automation best practices.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with technical teams.
• Must be based in Lima, Peru, and available to work on-site once per week.

Nice to Have

• Experience implementing automation in a primarily manual QA environment.
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, or Testkube.
• Experience with performance testing and test reporting tools.
• English proficiency, particularly for collaborating with US-based teams.
• Experience in insurance or financial services.

Employment Arrangement

The selected candidate will be employed through Staff Boom and work as a dedicated member of the Inszone Insurance Services Development team.

Location: Lima, Peru | Hybrid: 1 day per week in office
