Sr QA Automation Engineer (Project-based)

Role Overview

We are looking for a Senior QA Automation Engineer to design, build, and optimize our automated testing ecosystem across web platforms and backend systems. In this role, you will elevate our quality engineering standards by developing clean, maintainable, and scalable test automation suites using Playwright—enabling faster release cycles without compromising system stability.

Key Responsibilities

• Playwright Framework Architecture: Design, build, and evolve end-to-end (E2E) automated test frameworks for complex web applications using Playwright.
• Clean Code & Test Automation: Write modular, highly reusable automation scripts in TypeScript, JavaScript, and Python to cover integration and regression scenarios.
• API & Database Verification: Conduct backend API validation and run targeted SQL queries to verify data integrity, backend business logic, and flow accuracy.
• CI/CD Pipeline Integration: Work directly alongside development teams to embed automated test suites into continuous integration and deployment pipelines.
• Root-Cause Analysis & Bug Tracking: Trace execution logs, isolate flaky tests, debug failures, and systematically document defects through resolution.

Core Qualifications

• Playwright Expertise: 2+ years of dedicated, hands-on experience in web test automation using Playwright.
• Modern Web Stack Proficiency: Strong coding skills in TypeScript and JavaScript for web application testing frameworks.
• Backend Scripting: Working knowledge of Python or JavaScript for test data manipulation, scripting, and pipeline utilities.
• SQL & Data Validation: Practical familiarity with SQL for backend database checks and data verification.
• Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.
