Senior Shift Miller Assistant

Job Summary

The Senior Shift Miller Assistant supports daily silo and milling operations to ensure proper wheat receiving, raw material quality, accurate material transfer, and efficient flour production. This role assists the Shift Miller in monitoring milling equipment and production parameters, training junior personnel, maintaining operational records, and ensuring compliance with food safety, quality, and hygiene standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Shift Miller in daily milling operations and train Junior Shift Miller Assistants in silo and mill operations.
• Ensure proper wheat receiving, sampling, inspection, and handling procedures in coordination with Quality Control (QC).
• Monitor the timely and accurate transfer of raw materials to the plant and verify material quantities and tonnage.
• Conduct visual inspections of roller mills, feed gates, and related equipment to ensure proper operation and identify abnormalities.
• Monitor roller mill grinding performance, feed flow, flow rate, amperage, and off-mill flour on an hourly basis.
• Verify correct raw material usage and ensure proper feeding of materials to designated roller mills.
• Maintain cleanliness and proper hygiene throughout wheat receiving, material transfer, and production processes.
• Complete shift documentation and comply with established food safety and quality management programs.
• Report equipment abnormalities and operational concerns to the Shift Miller.
• Promote compliance with company policies, food safety standards, and quality objectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree graduate, preferably in Engineering or a related field.
• At least 1 year of hands-on milling experience, with knowledge of operating plant systems using Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC).
• Candidates with vocational education or college-level undergraduate studies may qualify with at least 3 years of hands-on milling experience and PLC operating plant knowledge.

• Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
• Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP)
• Internal Quality Audit (IQA)
