Senior Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) – GCP & Automation

About the Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced Site Reliability Engineer to help improve the reliability, scalability, and automation of cloud-based systems.

This position combines hands-on engineering with technical leadership, focusing on reducing manual processes, improving infrastructure performance, and building smarter ways to manage cloud environments.

The ideal candidate has a strong background in Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Python development, and Infrastructure as Code, along with an interest in applying AI technologies to cloud operations.

What You'll Do

• Build Python-based tools and automation solutions to simplify infrastructure management and day-to-day operations.
• Develop and maintain cloud environments using Terraform and Terragrunt.
• Improve deployment processes and automate workflows across Git, CI/CD pipelines, and JIRA.
• Support the design and ongoing improvement of GCP infrastructure, with an emphasis on reliability, security, and scalability.
• Identify opportunities to automate system monitoring, troubleshooting, and incident resolution.
• Explore and implement AI/ML capabilities to improve operational efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
• Create automated processes that can detect issues, initiate corrective actions, and improve system recovery.
• Work with infrastructure configuration files, including YAML, INI, and HCL.
• Establish standards for automation, change management, and infrastructure reliability.
• Partner with technical teams to evaluate existing systems, solve complex challenges, and recommend improvements.

What We're Looking For

• Strong hands-on experience developing automation tools and scripts using Python .
• Extensive experience working with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) .
• Proven expertise with Terraform and Terragrunt .
• Solid understanding of Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, and cloud infrastructure management .
• Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and automated deployments .
• Ability to develop reliable, repeatable automation processes with appropriate safeguards.
• Experience managing infrastructure configurations using YAML, HCL, or similar formats.
• Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and system optimization skills.
• Ability to work independently, influence technical decisions, and collaborate across engineering teams.

Additional Experience That Would Be Valuable

• Google Cloud certifications.
• Experience with Vertex AI or other AI/ML services.
• Exposure to predictive monitoring, automated incident response, or self-healing infrastructure.
• Experience integrating AI agents or orchestration tools into operational workflows.
• Previous experience leading cloud modernization or infrastructure automation initiatives.
