Sr Software Engineer

For our client, we are seeking a Sr Software Engineer to join the team of a leader in the Manufacturing & Automotive space.

This role will focus on building and evolving backend systems that support data collection, signal processing, and operational visibility for vehicle-related workflows. You will design scalable APIs and event-driven services that help ensure data is collected, tracked, and interpreted accurately across connected systems. In addition to hands-on development, you will partner closely with cross-functional teams to improve engineering quality, system reliability, and technical decision-making.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $170,600 – $261,300 annually

Responsibilities

• Design and develop APIs and event-driven workflows for data collection.
• Build user experiences for managing data collection events and monitoring results.
• Create version-aware workflows to handle data signals and software compatibility.
• Enhance visibility into data quality and ingestion metrics.
• Lead technical design and cross-team initiatives related to vehicle data management.
• Elevate engineering standards through architecture and code reviews.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience, with a focus on production systems ownership.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• Proficiency in Python or a modern backend programming language.
• Strong background in designing scalable backend services and APIs.
• Experience with event-driven architectures and production operations.
• Effective communicator with the ability to lead cross-organizational initiatives.
