Sr. Specification Writer

Job Summary

Sr. Specification Writer to support our New Zealand Specification team. This is a remote role based in India, working from the ASSA ABLOY India regional office and operating as part of the ASSA ABLOY India team. You'll play a key part in delivering accurate door and hardware specifications, supporting project outcomes, and collaborating closely with a high-performing trans-Tasman team.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate door and hardware specifications and schedules
• Interpret construction drawings and project requirements
• Ensure compliance with building codes, NZ standards, and fire regulations
• Provide technical support to sales teams, architects, and contractors
• Generate project quotations and manage pricing within guidelines
• Maintain accurate project data in CRM systems
• Support project discussions and provide product clarification
• Contribute to knowledge sharing and adoption of AAOS tools
• Support non-specified discretionary projects generated from lead-generation tools

Requirements

• 6+ years experience in a related role (specifications, construction, or similar)
• Understanding of door hardware, architectural, or construction industry
• Ability to read and interpret building drawings
• Knowledge of building codes and compliance requirements
• Strong communication skills, especially in a remote team environment
• Comfortable working independently and managing your time
• Experience with specification, CRM, or estimation tools

GAI or DHI qualifications are a plus, but not essential.
