Sr. Structural Engineer

Role Description This is a contract, on-site role for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer – SolidWorks & Ansys based in Berkeley, CA. The engineer will lead the design and development of mechanical components and assemblies, using SolidWorks for detailed 3D modeling and Ansys for structural, thermal, and fatigue analyses. Daily responsibilities include creating and reviewing engineering drawings, performing design calculations, running simulations, and optimizing designs for performance, manufacturability, and cost. The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, preparing technical documentation, supporting design reviews, and ensuring compliance with relevant industry standards. The engineer will also troubleshoot design issues, provide guidance to junior team members, and contribute to continuous improvement of design processes and tools.

⭐ Staff-level candidates:

Experience with dynamic, static, linear, and nonlinear FEA is highly preferred. Knowledge of ASCE 7-22 and AISC-360 is a plus.

🎓 Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
