Sr. Testing Engineer Power Electronics & Defense Systems

Role & responsibilities

• Develop and execute validation plans, test procedures, and qualification reports.

• Perform functional, performance, environmental, and reliability testing of power electronic assemblies.

• Test and characterize SMPS, DC-DC converters, AC-DC power supplies, battery chargers, and inverter systems.

• Conduct efficiency, thermal, load regulation, line regulation, and transient response testing.

• Perform EMI/EMC pre-compliance and qualification testing.

• Analyze switching waveforms, power losses, and thermal behavior using advanced test equipment.

• Investigate failures, perform root-cause analysis, and recommend corrective actions.

• Develop automated test setups using LabVIEW, Python, MATLAB, or similar platforms.

• Generate detailed test reports and support design verification (DVT), product validation (PVT), and qualification activities.

• Collaborate with hardware, firmware, PCB design, and manufacturing teams throughout the product lifecycle.

Preferred candidate profile

• Education: B.E. / B.Tech / M.E. / M.Tech in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or Power Electronics.
• Experience: 3 to 6 years in power electronics testing, validation, or reliability engineering.
• Domain: Direct experience in defense electronics, aerospace power systems, industrial power supplies, EV systems, or high-reliability electronics.
