The Senior Electrical Design Engineer is responsible for overseeing and leading the design, development, and implementation of electrical systems and components for a variety of projects. This role requires a deep understanding of electrical engineering principles, strong project management skills, and the ability to mentor junior engineers and collaborate with other engineering disciplines.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the design and development of electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, control systems, and emergency power systems for Substation projects upto 400Kv.

• Create and review detailed electrical design drawings, schematics, and specifications.

• Ensure that designs comply with relevant codes, standards, and regulations.

• Oversee electrical design projects from concept through completion, including planning, scheduling, and budgeting.

• Coordinate with project managers, architects, and other engineers to ensure integration of electrical systems with other building systems.

• Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to project requirements.

• Technical Expertise:

• Provide technical guidance and support throughout the design and implementation phases of projects.

• Analyze and resolve complex electrical engineering problems and design challenges.

• Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices.

• Collaborate with clients, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and objectives.

• Facilitate effective communication between engineering teams, contractors, and vendors.

• Conduct site visits and inspections to monitor progress and ensure compliance with design specifications.

• Review and approve electrical design documentation, including calculations, reports, and installation plans.

• Implement quality control processes to ensure the accuracy and reliability of electrical designs.

• Conduct design reviews and provide recommendations for improvements or modifications.

• Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and design staff.

• Lead design review meetings and contribute to the development of best practices and standards.

• Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor s degree or masters degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field

• Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in electrical design engineering, with a proven track record of successful project delivery for EHV Substation Design projects upto 400Kv.

• Experience leading and managing complex electrical design projects.

• Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification is required.

• Additional certifications related to electrical systems or project management (e.g., PMP) are a plus.

Skills:

• Extensive knowledge of electrical systems design, including power distribution, lighting, and control systems.

• Proficiency in design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, ETAP).

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

• Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple priorities and deadlines.

• This role may involve occasional travel to project sites for inspections and meetings.

• The position may require working in both office environments and construction sites.
