Staff Accountant

First Financial Bank has an immediate opening for a Staff Accountant - Accounting Operations at the Corporate Office located in El Dorado, Arkansas.

The primary responsibility of this position is to perform accounting and operational support functions that contribute to the accuracy of the Bank's general ledger, mortgage sale accounting, tax administration processes, and accounts payable activities. This position is responsible for maintaining assigned reconciliations, preparing accounting entries, supporting assigned tax-related processes, administering BOLI accounting and reporting requirements, and assisting with departmental operational activities. The role requires strong attention to detail, sound organizational skills, and adherence to established internal controls to ensure the timely and accurate processing of financial information..

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree in Accounting required. One to three years of accounting, accounts payable, finance, banking, or related experience preferred.

COMPLEXITY: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide Tax Administration, Accounts Payable, and Operational support. BOLI Accounting and Risk Reporting. Reconciliation of various general ledger accounts. Able to back up various duties within the department. Responsible for other duties as assigned by department supervisor.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Must be proficient in MS Excel, Word, and other Microsoft Office applications. Must possess excellent organization skills and be able to work under strict time deadlines. Must have good verbal and written communication skills. Should be able to handle multiple tasks and be a self-starter.
