Staff Accountant

Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our finance team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for managing core accounting functions, ensuring compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), and supporting financial reporting processes. Responsibilities

• Prepare and analyze journal entries, account reconciliations, and balance sheet schedules to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes using financial software such as QuickBooks, Xero, or Sage.
• Conduct detailed general ledger accounting, including month-end closing procedures and financial statement preparation.
• Assist with payroll management utilizing systems like ADP, UltiPro, or Paychex, ensuring timely processing and compliance.
• Support internal controls related to SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) compliance by documenting processes and performing audits as needed.
• Perform data entry tasks with high accuracy using Excel data analysis techniques and maintain confidential information securely.
• Reconcile accounts, review transactions for discrepancies, and perform account analysis to support audit readiness.

Experience

• Proven accounting experience with a strong understanding of GAAP and governmental accounting principles.
• Hands-on experience with financial software such as Workday, Kronos, Ceridian, PeopleSoft, or similar systems.
• Knowledge of technical accounting concepts including journal entries, debits & credits, and double-entry bookkeeping.
• Familiarity with payroll systems like ADP or UltiPro and experience managing accounts payable/receivable functions.
• Demonstrated ability to perform balance sheet reconciliation, account analysis, and month-end closing activities.
• Strong numeracy skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel for data analysis and spreadsheet management.
• Experience in public accounting or corporate accounting environments is highly desirable.

Pay: $46.00 - $52.00 per hour
