Staff Accountant

Overview

Join our dynamic accounting team as a Staff Accountant and become a vital contributor to our organization’s financial health and integrity. In this role, you will be responsible for:

• Full cycle accounting for a division of company
• Monthly / Quarterly preparation of management financials
• Other tasks / projects as directed by Controller and CFO

Responsibilities

• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes using various financial software including QuickBooks and Yardi in collaboration with the Homeworks Property Management team.
• Prepare and analyze journal entries, ensuring accuracy in the general ledger and adherence to accounting standards.
• Conduct balance sheet reconciliations, account analysis, and review of financial statements to verify data integrity.
• Support month-end and year-end closing activities by preparing reports, performing account reconciliations, and assisting with financial statement preparations.
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information while handling data entry tasks with high accuracy using Excel data analysis tools and spreadsheets.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in accounting roles with familiarity in accounting practices and financial concepts.
• Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Accounting Preferred
• Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Yardi, or similar platforms is a plus.
• Skills and experience in data entry, account reconciliation, journal entries, and double-entry bookkeeping techniques.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze financial data accurately using Excel spreadsheets and other financial software tools.
• Effective communication skills with a customer service mindset for internal stakeholders and external vendors alike.

Pay: $25.00 - $27.00 per hour
