Staff Accountant

Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and energetic Staff Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for managing core accounting functions, ensuring compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), and supporting various financial processes across the organization. Your expertise will help maintain accurate financial records, facilitate timely reporting, and uphold the integrity of our financial systems. Responsibilities

• Prepare and analyze journal entries, account reconciliations, and balance sheet schedules to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes using financial software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar systems.
• Conduct data entry and perform detailed Excel data analysis to support financial reporting and decision-making.
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures, including ledger maintenance and variance analysis.
• Support compliance with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) controls by documenting processes and ensuring internal control adherence.
• Handle confidential financial information with integrity while maintaining strict data security protocols.
• Collaborate with external auditors during audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations of financial transactions.

Skills

• Strong knowledge of GAAP accounting standards and principles, with experience in corporate or governmental accounting preferred.
• Proficiency in accounting software such as Workday, Paychex, ADP, Kronos, UltiPro, Ceridian, PeopleSoft, or similar platforms.
• Demonstrated experience with technical accounting issues and financial concepts including debits & credits, journal entries, account analysis, and double entry bookkeeping.
• Excellent numeracy skills combined with strong attention to detail for accurate account reconciliation and book balancing.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high-quality work standards.
• Effective communication skills for customer service interactions and cross-departmental collaboration.
• Familiarity with spreadsheets and Microsoft Office tools for data analysis and reporting purposes.

Pay: $96,015.91 - $106,341.73 per year
