Staff Accountant

Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our finance team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for managing core accounting functions, ensuring compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), and supporting financial reporting processes. Duties

• Prepare and record journal entries, ensuring accuracy in debits and credits across the general ledger.
• Conduct balance sheet reconciliations and account analysis to verify data integrity.
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes using systems such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar accounting software.
• Support month-end and year-end closing activities, including financial statement preparation and audit support.
• Assist with payroll management tasks utilizing platforms like ADP, UltiPro, Paychex, or Kronos while ensuring compliance with payroll regulations.
• Handle confidential financial information with discretion and professionalism.
• Contribute to internal controls and compliance efforts related to SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) requirements and other regulatory standards.
• Utilize Excel for data analysis, spreadsheet management, and reporting to support decision-making processes.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in accounting or finance roles, preferably within public accounting or corporate accounting environments.
• Strong understanding of GAAP, governmental accounting standards (if applicable), and technical accounting principles.
• Proficiency with multiple financial systems such as Workday, PeopleSoft, Ceridian, Kronos, Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel), and various accounting software including QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or similar platforms.
• Experience with data entry accuracy, account reconciliation, journal entries, and ledger management.
• Knowledge of payroll processing systems like ADP or UltiPro is highly desirable.
• Excellent numeracy skills combined with attention to detail and organizational ability.
• Ability to handle confidential information responsibly while maintaining high ethical standards.
• Strong communication skills for collaborating across teams and supporting audit processes.

Pay: $66,800.00 - $80,500.00 per year
