Staff Accountant

RMR Rosenswig McRae Rosso LLP, a progressive and expanding CPA firm is looking for a Staff Accountant to join our team. We are a 40+ staff firm located in downtown Toronto. Our client base consists of a wide variety of business sectors including service, retail, manufacturing, marketing, sales, construction, real estate and information technology. Our firm is a member of an educational consortium through which we provide professional development to staff. We are also a member of MGI Worldwide a worldwide association of public accounting firms. The organic growth of the firm has resulted in significant upward potential for qualified candidates who will be enrolled in our firm-wide staff mentor program to assist in career development.

The candidate’s main responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with the preparation of audit and review engagements (includes field work)

• Prepare Notice to Reader files (Financial Statements)

• Responsible for preparation of corporate and personal income tax returns

• Opportunity to assist with corporate re-organizations, business valuations and due diligence engagements

• Build relationships with clients by understanding and responding to their requests and suggestions

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 - 3 years CPA firm experience

• CPA designation is not compulsory

• Audit and review engagement experience

• Proficient user of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)

• Experience with Accounting programs is an asset (TaxPrep, Caseware, Caseview)

• Excellent verbal and oral communication skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Flexible team player who works independently and with other team members

• Positive attitude and detail oriented

• Excellent organization skills

• Ability to multi-task and follow deadlines

Pay: $68,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
